Other Benefits for our Health Insurance Clients Include:


  • A Care Card that allows your employees/dependents to receive treatment from a large number of doctors/hospitals without having to make a payment at the time of treatment (other than any amount in excess of the entitled benefit for a doctor's consultation).
  • Emergency Evacuation - Members can access the SOS Assistance Worldwide Network of Alarm Centres, which are manned by multilingual staff and medical personnel, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When medical facilities are not available in the country where a member is hospitalised, SOS can also provide emergency evacuation worldwide by whatever means medically necessary.
  • China Health Link Network - SOS will assist members to be admitted to the exclusive selected hospitals in the People's Republic of China by presenting the Health Link Card. SOS will arrange and provide guarantee for any required hospital admission deposit.
  • Home Health Care - At no extra premium cost, your employees can, after they have received crucial hospital treatment, choose to have hospital-standard care in the comfort of their own home. Various Home Care services, including Home Health Care Planning and Monitoring, Nursing Services, Rehabilitation Therapy etc., are available.

  • Subsidised Health Wellness Programmes - Hepatitis A + B vaccination programme, Chicken Box vaccination programme and Pap Smear screening tests for cervical cancer.
  • Health Talks - To help our clients understand more about Preventive Care, we will organize health talks for them. For example, in December 1998, we organised a talk for our employee benefits clients. Two Hong Kong doctors spoke about the prevention and treatment of cancer and coronary heart disease. We plan to organise more health talks in future, to keep you informed about important health issues.

    Flexible Benefit Planning


    The cost of providing employee benefits is rising every year. Our flexible plans can provide you and your employees with cost-effective benefit options and alternatives.

    A flexible plan means that employees can choose from a menu of cash and certain non-taxable benefits, including health, disability, dental, vision, reimbursement of medical benefits and life insurance.

    Benefit Credit Plans are used in flexible planning where the employer gives 'flex credit dollars' to employees, who then choose from a menu of qualified benefits. Plans may allow for certain cash-out options for employees who are covered for similar or better benefits through their spouse's insurance, and who prefer to take their 'flex credit dollars' as additional taxable pay.

    Employees need to be aware that the elections they make for an upcoming plan year are irrevocable during that same plan year. Changes during a plan year can be made only under certain circumstances (such as marriage, divorce, death, adoption, birth or death of a dependent or spouse, commencement or termination of employment of an employee's spouse, or significant cost or coverage changes to an employee's health plan).

    A flexible plan will help you to cope with the increased costs of and demand for new benefit plans for your employees. Proper planning and effective education of your employees when you establish your plan will also result in substantial tax savings and benefit enhancements for you and your employees.
